Drone photography used for multiple solar farm case studies across England, Wales, Scotland & Ireland.
Throughout 2016 we have been tasked with providing aerial photography for multiple solar farm sites across England, Wales, Scotland & Ireland. The aerial and ground images have been used for case studies documenting the vast solar sites that Elgin Energy have developed in Ireland & the UK. Drones are being used more regularly for providing rapid surveys and inspections within the green energy sector, due to the speed of deployment, quality of outcome and relatively low cost.
The Rose & Crown solar farm began construction in January 2016 and was energised in March 2016. This 30MW solar farm is Elgin’s largest operational solar development to date. It consists of 116,500 individual Solar PV panels located on seven fields covering a total area of 150 acres.
The parameters of the site were largely defined by the North Sea gas main at the northern boundary and the surrounding all users routes on the eastern and southern boundaries.
