Historical property enlists drone power to capture its fort like tree line with aerial photography.
We were recently contacted by a local estate agents to capture a series of images for an interesting property found in Mawnan Smith, Cornwall. The property was built on a historical site in which the defensive structures can still be seen today in the shape of trees which surround the building in a complete circle.
The Round Field due to having been constructed on an historically important site which was at one time a fortified hill fort which is believed to have looked something like the attached illustration.
In an article in Cornish Archaeology when the original property was constructed in 1976, this scheduled monument was described by a local historian as ‘the most perfect in the district’ and during the time the previous owners had the existing property built (completed in September 1976) a watching brief was undertaken by the Cornwall Archaeology Society
